HARUTYUN ALPETYAN: Two Portraits

previous | next

December 06, 2009

The exposition consists of sixteen portraits of the author’s friends which aretransformed into two portraits: the portrait of his girlfriend and a self-portrait.There was also a video installation with almost invisible faces where the soundsof a friendly chat are well perceivable. These are the voices of the same peoplefrom the portraits. Much likeness is obvious between all these faces, althoughthey are represented through the portraits of different people with differentvoices. Through this project the author tries to touch upon one of the common issues in small groups: the tension between community and personality.
